Ride it Sculpture Park : Phase 2

RIDE IT SCULPTURE PARK

is a public park along the Davison Expressway, combining elements of skateboarding with public art and green-space into a unique neighborhood landmark. Ride It is an evolving experience of art and skate-able surfaces. Past projects include: two distinctive design/ build phases with notable skater/builders including Evergreen Skate-parks; host to Matthew Barney’s Drawing Restraint 19 event performed by legendary skater Lance Mountain; outdoor performances, videos, and music. An upcoming commissioned work by artist Nari Ward will transform the park’s eastern edge. Open every day from dawn ‘til dusk, Ride It provides outdoor space for all ages and from diverse backgrounds – social, economic and geographic – to constructively and creatively cross paths.

Phase 3 completed October 2017 with artist Nari Ward and Evergreen Skateparks

Phase 2 built October 2013 with Evergreen Skateparks

Matthew Barney's Drawing Restraint 19 with Lance Mountain took place January 2013

We are documenting the artist who helped create this skate-able art.  Showing the work that goes into reshaping a neighborhood, and creating functional art for the benefit of a community.
